SS 1

Understanding SS 1

Bitumen emulsion SS1 is a slow-setting, anionic emulsion known for its stability during storage. It is produced using equipment that generates a wide range of shearing forces, ensuring consistent quality. The stability is achieved through the use of emulsion-conditioner compositions, including partially desulfonated lignosulfonate, anionic or non-ionic emulsifying agents, and optionally, thickeners.

Applications:

  • Cold Asphalt: Ideal for use in cold or humid conditions for sealing and maintenance.
  • Highway Construction: Widely utilized in road surfacing and maintenance.
  • Water Repellent Surfaces: Suitable for applications requiring durable, water-resistant surfaces.
  • Mixing with Aggregates: Slow-setting nature allows for mixing with fine or dusty aggregate particles, facilitating further processing before setting into a cohesive mass.

Key Benefits

  • Stability: Remains stable in storage, making it convenient for various applications.
  • Versatility: Effective in diverse environmental conditions and applications, enhancing its utility in construction and maintenance projects.
